Glorious Suryavanshi

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has become the youngest player to score a century in men's Twenty20 cricket. Rajasthan Royals defeated Gujarat Titans by 8 wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) after Suryavanshi, aged 14 years and 32 days, completed a 35-ball century on Monday.

Suryavanshi, who made his 'debut' in the IPL 9 days ago in the Lucknow Super Giants match, played a storming innings in Jaipur. It is also the second-fewest century in IPL history. Chris Gayle completed his century in 30 balls while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2013.

After Debrehate batsman Suryavanshi scored 101 runs in 38 balls, Rajasthan completed the target of 210 runs by scoring 212 runs in 15.5 overs. Player of the match Suryavanshi hit 11 sixes and 7 fours. Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal shared a partnership of 166 runs, Rajasthan's highest first wicket partnership. The partnership was broken when Suryavanshi was dismissed in the 12th over.

Suryavanshi was bowled by the famous Krishna. Nitish Rana, who came after that, could score only 4 runs. Jaiswal 70 and Ryan Parag remained unbeaten on 32 runs to give Rajasthan victory. Jaiswal hit 9 fours and 2 sixes while playing 40 balls and Parag hit the same 2 fours and sixes while playing 15 balls. Earlier, after losing the toss and coming into bat, Gujarat lost 4 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs and scored 209 runs. Captain Shuvman Gill scored 84 runs by hitting 5 fours and 4 sixes while playing 50 balls. Sai Sudarshan scored 39 off 30 balls, Jos Buttler scored an unbeaten 50 off 26 balls with 3 fours and 4 sixes.

After this defeat, Gujarat lost the chance to reach the top spot. Gujarat dropped to third place in net run rate while Mumbai Indians moved up to second place without playing. Rajasthan has 6 points in 10 matches after ending their 5 consecutive defeats.
