National Women's Football Tournament-2082 is going to be held in Hetaunda. The 7th Shaheed Memorial Local Level Women's Football Tournament is going to be organized by the Makwanpur District Football Association. The association, which has organized the men's football tournament in the previous editions, is going to continue the seventh edition as the National Women's Gold Cup.
The association was forced to organize a women's football tournament after the funds provided by the local level were cut, along with not publishing the accounts on time.
Association held a press conference in Hetaunda on Saturday and claimed that it is going to organize the tournament with the development and craze of women's football. Five district clubs along with three departmental teams will participate in the competition which will start from May 19th at Gouritar stadium located in Hetaunda-6.
Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police (APF) along with eight clubs from Makwanpur, Chitwan, Sarlahi, Rautahat and Bara districts will participate, according to Chhvi Subedi, Secretary of Football Association Makwanpur. According to the organizers, the winner of the competition will receive a trophy and certificate along with 5 lakh and the runner-up will receive 3 lakh in cash, while the best player will receive a scooter. It is estimated by the organizers that it will cost 61 lakhs to run the
competition. As sponsors of the competition, there are 10 local levels of Makwanpur, the Provincial Sports Development Council and local organizations.
Association has also released the income-expenditure details of the sixth edition of the Gold Cup competition. According to the statement of income and expenditure, last year's football tournament is shown to be financially loss. It is mentioned in the details that 91 lakh 48 thousand rupees have been spent to organize the competition and total income is 89 lakh 24 thousand rupees. According to the organizers, there was a loss of 240,000 rupees from the competition.
