By defeating Kosi Duhabi Capital by 56 runs, Chinnamasta Rupani Madhesh Riders won the opening match of 'Madhesh Premier League Cricket Tournament Third Edition'. Chinnamasta won with the help of Shankar Rana's 65 runs.
In the match shortened to 18 overs due to time, Chinmasta scored 154 runs, losing 6 wickets in the scheduled overs. In Chinnamasta Rupani's total of 154 runs, Shankar Rana contributed the most with 65, Santosh Karki 31 and Rohan Vick 22 runs. On the bowling side, Koshi Duhabi's Krishna Karki and Akash Tripathi took 3/3 wickets.
Koshi Duhbi lost all wickets in 13 overs and made only 98 runs. Ishan Pandey scored 37, Sonu Ansari 29 and Dipesh Kandel scored 16 runs for Kosi Duhabi. On Wednesday, the first match will be between Saptari Balan Bihul Super King and Chinmasta Rupni Madhesh Riders and the second match will be between Koshi Duhabi and Kathmandu Royals.
National and international players will participate in the competition with a total of 6 teams. Dipendrasinh Airi, Kushal Bhurtel, Arif Sheikh, Ashif Sheikh, Gulsan Jha, Lalit Rajwanshi, Wasir Ahmed, Rashid Khan, Vivek Yadav, Nandan Yadav, Arjun Saud and Amit Shrestha will take the field. There will be a total of 18 games in the tournament.
Chairman Yadav said that cash prizes of 9 lakh 1 thousand have been arranged for the first team, 4 lakh 1 thousand for the second team and 1 lakh 51 thousand for the man of the series. It is estimated that a total of 1 crore 17 lakh 500 rupees will be spent on the competition. The final match of the tournament will be held on May 11.
