With the help of Sahil Patel and Neeraj Yadav's excellent batting, Nepal U-19 defeated Oman U-19 by 8 wickets in the ACC U-19 World Cup Asia Qualifier on Monday.
After Sahil and Neeraj shared 85 runs in 10 overs, Nepal completed the target of 118 runs in 14.3 overs at Upper Moolpani Cricket Ground. Neeraj scored 46 runs off 31 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes. Sahil, who hit 3 fours and 1 six off 42 balls, was dismissed for 44 runs. Captain Naren Bhatt scored 12 runs off 9 balls with 2 fours and Santosh Yadav remained unbeaten on 10 runs off 5 balls with 2 fours.
This is Nepal's second win in a row. Earlier, Nepal defeated UAE by 5 runs in the first match on Saturday. This is Oman's second defeat in a row.
Oman, who lost the toss and batted earlier, was bowled out for 117 runs in 38 overs with the help of Yuvraj Khatri's 5 wickets.
leg-spinner Yuvraj took 5 wickets with 1 maiden in 7 overs giving away 15 runs. Coming in as the seventh bowler, he started taking wickets by dismissing Jeet Brajesh Shah in the 30th over and he took the last 5 wickets of Oman.
Santosh Yadav took 2 wickets with 14 runs in 8 overs. Ashok Dhami, Aparajit Poudel and Dayanand Mandal took 1 wicket each. Nepal included Dayanand in the team instead of Darsh Sonar.
Jeet Brajesh Shah top scored for Oman with 52 runs. He hit 6 fours off 78 balls. Pratish Hema Ramesh was out for 10 runs and Siddharth Somya Shankar was out for 16 runs. Kavis Rajeshkumar Shah remained unbeaten on 9 runs.
Oman was defeated by 8 wickets in the first match against Afghanistan.
