In the Lumbini Cup Invitational Women's Football Tournament, 8 teams including three divisions of Nepal and Siliguri Football Club of India are going to compete.
The chief executive of the organizer Jay Narayan Shah said that the home team Banke-11, APF Club, Nepal Police Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, Karnali FC, Sudurpaschim FC, Siliguri Football Club, Rautahat District Football Association will compete in the tournament to be held at Nepalgunj Stadium from 5th to 12th April.
The winner of the competition held in collaboration with the Banke District Football Association will receive a cash prize of Rs.555,555 and the runner-up will receive a cash prize of Rs.
The best player in every game and the best player in each category will also be awarded. He said that after the tournament, he will provide regular football training as well as support in the maintenance of the physical infrastructure of the stadium. To watch all the matches of the
tournament, the seasonal (whole package) ticket is fixed at 1500 rupees. Concessions will be given for students. Shah said that tickets are arranged according to VIP and ordinary parapit to watch the match.
The prize money announced in the Lumbini Cup is the highest amount in women's football, the organizers claim. It is believed that the competition will help in the production of new players.
