Pratham and Deepa won gold in singles

Pratham Manandhar and Deepa Pun Magar of Narharipur Dojo won gold medals in Shaheed Sagar Singh and Gyan Bahadur Shahi Memorial Karate Tournament on Monday. Both are singles kata winners.

In men, Kushal Thapa of Bhaktapur came second, Sahas Tamang of Bhaktapur and Saimal Rai of Lubhu came third. Among women, Misti Shrestha of Nagesh stood second and Itusha Maharjan of Lubhu and Sneha Tamang of Dhan Bahadur Memorial Foundation stood third.

Ajay Bhomjan of the men's under 60 kg category became the first in the competition organized by the Nepal Sitoryo Karate Do Sangha Prabhopokhari Dojo. He defeated Ankit Khadka of Nagesh in the final. Usan Tamang of Toukhel and Devkumar Thakur of Naraharipur came third.

Vishnu Thapa of Nagesh won gold in the men's 25 kg competition held at Patan Durbar Square with the support of Lalitpur Metropolitan Municipality. He defeated Sugandh Pun of Narharipur in the final. Ajay Syangtan of Toukhel and Pramod Malla of Thecho won bronze.

The two-day competition consists of 22 events in men's/women's single kata and 11-11 in kumite.
