Nepal U-19 lost to Afghanistan U-19 by 1 run in a very exciting second youth one-day cricket match on Sunday. With this victory, Afghanistan has taken an unbeaten 2-0 lead in the 3-match series in the match between these two teams, which are in preparation for the ICC U-19 World Cup Asia Qualifiers starting next week.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Afghanistan were bowled out for 168 runs after playing the scheduled 50 overs at Moolpani Cricket Ground. In response, Nepal had to score 11 runs for victory in the last over and Nepal had only 1 wicket left.

After Dhruv Sonar hit fours in the first and third balls of the last over of the match, Nepal U-19 needed 3 runs in the last 3 balls to win. Mahbub Khan bowled Dhruv in the fourth ball. But it was no ball. Dhruv was run out by Afghanistan's wicketkeeper Khalid Ahmadzai when he thought he was out after being bowled.

Dhruva was dismissed for 21 runs after playing 31 balls. Opener Sahil Patel scored the highest 64 runs from Nepal. He played 119 balls and hit 6 fours. Niraj Yadav 15, Naren Bhatt 13, Sibrin Shrestha 2, Dilshad Ali 8, Abhishek Tiwari hit 4 fours and 1 six off 25 balls, Rohan Vishwakarma 9, Santosh Yadav 4 and Aparajit Paudel were out for 4 runs.

Afghanistan's Wahidullah Zadran, Zaitullah Sahin and Hafiz Zadran took 2-2 and Ruhullah Araw, captain Mahbub Khan and Uzairullah Niezai took 1-1 wicket each.

Earlier, Mahbub scored 58 runs from Afghanistan. He played 114 balls and hit 1 boundary. Arab 27, Niezai 19, Nazifullah Amiri 16, Khatir Stanikzai 11 and Khalid Ahmadzai were dismissed for 10 runs.

Devrehate spinners from Nepal dominated. Santosh Yadav took 2 wickets with 23 runs and 1 maiden in 10 overs and Bipin Sharma took 2 wickets with 44 runs and 1 maiden in 10 overs. Sibrin spent 28 runs in 10 overs and Abhishek and Aparajit took 1 wicket each. The third and final match between these two teams will be held on Wednesday.
