Nepal U-19 lost to Afghanistan U-19 by 130 runs in the first youth one-day cricket match on Thursday. Coming with a huge target of 310 runs, Nepal was bowled out for 170 runs in 46.2 overs.
The U-19 teams of Nepal and Afghanistan are playing this series of three matches during the preparation of the ICC U-19 World Cup Asia Qualifying Tournament which will start next week in Mulpani. Afghanistan U-19 is playing the series for the first time in Nepal. This victory against Nepal also showed that Afghanistan is a major contender to reach the U-19 World Cup.
opener Niraj Kumar Yadav scored the highest 53 runs from Nepal. He played 61 balls and hit 4 fours and 2 sixes. Another opener Sahil Patel was dismissed for 2 runs. Captain Naren Bhatt 13, Sibrin Shrestha 11, Amar Mishra 1, Roshan Vishwakarma 4, Abhishek Tiwari were dismissed for 17 runs.

Faisal Shinozada scored the highest 97 runs from Afghanistan. He was dismissed by Santosh Yadav after approaching a century and hit 9 fours and 4 sixes in 88 balls. When Uzerullah Nizai hit 2 fours and 1 six off 22 balls and was dismissed for 24 runs, Shinozada shared 154 runs with opener Khalid Ahmadzai for the second wicket.
