Khokho's Hemraj Paneru and Manmati Dhami have been declared Sportsperson of the Year in the 6th SPA Sudurpaschim Sports Awards 2081.

Sports journalist Manch Kailali organized, the main sponsor of Sudurpaschim Zone Academy (SPA) and the main promotion of Sudurpaschim Province Sports Council in Dhangadhi.

Paneru is the captain who made Nepal the runner-up in the first Khokho World Cup for women. Along with Paneru, Karate's Mohammad Sekhu Alam and Volleyball's Arjun Nepali were nominated. Dhami is the player who made Nepal the runner-up in the first Khokho World Cup for women. Along with him, Boxing's Swastika Tiruva and Kabaddi's Manmati Bista were nominated. Award winners Paneru and Dhami received a trophy along with 35 thousand rupees in cash. 

Kabaddi's Harina Thapa has been coach of the year. Kabaddi's Vishnu Bhatt and Volleyball's Jagdish Bhatt were nominated in that category. Thapa is the coach who won the bronze medal for Nepal in the Asian Women's Kabaddi Championship for the first time. Winner Thapa got a trophy along with 30,000 cash.   Kabaddi's Sushil Chunara was chosen as the young player of the year. In the 4th Bangabandhu Men's International Kabaddi Tournament held in Bangladesh, he performed well when the Nepali team became the runner-up. Chunara got a trophy with 25,000 cash. He was nominated along with Neerajan Dhami of football and Naren Saud of cricket. 

On the men's side, Atharva Singh of swimming and Manisha Bohra of karate on the women's side were declared icons of the Far West. Singh is the player who set a new national record in the qualifying competition of the World Aquatics Championship, while Bohra is the player who won the gold medal for Nepal in the 8th South Asian Karate Competition held in Thimphu, Bhutan. Both the winning players received trophies with 25,000-25,000 cash. Hemant Dhami of cricket and Khagendra Joshi of Kabaddi and Manisha Joshi of Kabaddi and Savitri Dhami of cricket were nominated for men. 

Football's Kamal Lama was given Lifetime Achievement and Cricket's Ritu Kanaujia was given a special award. Lama is the initiator of the football game in the Far West, while Kanaujia is the first batch of the Nepali women's cricket team. She is still active as a cricketer. Both of them got trophies with cash 25-25 thousand. 

Minister of Social Development of Far West Meghraj Khadka, President of Organizing Sports Journalist Manch Kailali Pradeep Pathak and others awarded the winners. Singer Durgesh Thapa and other artists performed in the program.
