The prize money is double that of last year
The KP Oli Cup T-20 National Open Men's Cricket Tournament will be held from March 23 to 30. Under the organization of Madan Bhandari Sports Academy, the second edition of the tournament is going to be held at the cricket ground at Pokhara Stadium.
Academy President Dhruv Acharya informed in a press conference held in Pokhara on Saturday that 16 teams from 7 provinces, departments, organizers and others are ready to participate in the competition. He said that for the purpose of producing players from the grassroots, this time, other than the provincial and departmental players will also participate in the competition.
'We have tried to make a difference this time so that players come from the lower level with the aim of searching for new talent,' he said, 'There is a demand that there should be a team from Pokhara. If 28/29 teams come in contact, 16 teams will be selected at the end.'' President Acharya said that the competition will be conducted in the league cup knockout system. The prize for the winner and runner-up of the competition has been doubled from last year. The winner of the
competition will be awarded with a trophy, medal and certificate along with Rs. The winner of the first edition, Madhesh Pradesh, received 5 lakhs and the runner-up, Tribhuvan Army Club, received 250,000 rupees. President Acharya said that the man of the series will get 30,000, the best bowler and the best batsman will get a trophy with 20,000 rupees each. Man of the match is awarded 5 thousand rupees and a trophy.
