Former Australian batsman Stuart Law has been appointed as the head coach of the Nepali national cricket team. The decision was taken by the central working committee meeting of Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) held at Bhairahawa on Friday.

India's Manish Jha has been appointed as the consultant coach of the Nepali women's national cricket team. Stewart, who has played 1 Test and 54 ODIs for Australia, has been appointed for 2 years with effect from April, according to CAN. Jha will remain with the Nepali women's team until the World Cup Asia qualifiers in May.

56-year-old Stewart, who played for Australia from 1994 to 1999, has a long experience in training. He was the coach of the United States in the Twenty-20 World Cup in the United States last year. America defeated Pakistan in the Super Over in the group stage.

In 2009, he was the assistant coach of the Sri Lankan national team. Then he became the head coach of Bangladesh in 2011-12. From 2018, he became the head coach of West Indies. He also became the coach of Afghanistan in 2022 for a series. Apart from that, he was also the coach of the English county team Middlesex.
