The second edition of Panchkanya district level cross country race competition is going to be held on Chait 30 in Panchkanya Rural Municipality. In the competition organized by Panchakanya Janakalyan Yuva Samaj, male/female open 10 km and Panchakanya municipal level students will compete in 5 km distance.
For the open race, the winner of both men and women will get 22,000, the second runner-up 16,000 and the third runner-up 10,000. The winner of the 5 km student race will get Rs 11,000, the second runner-up Rs 7,000 and the third runner-up Rs 4,000. The race will start from Panchkanya rural municipality office Lakuribhanjang and will reach Ghyangswara Shahid Smarak Tourist Park and end at Ghalebhanjang via the same route.
Tikaram Tamang, president of the society, said that a running competition is going to be held to support the promotion of the Khyangswara Martyr Memorial Park built in Panchkanya-4 and the establishment of public welfare educational Akshaya Kosh. On the same occasion, there will also be a musical program with the national medal winning players of Panchkanya Palika and famous artists Ramhari Bhandari, Meena Lama, Rameshwar Bhandari and others.
The program coordinator and treasurer of the organization Ramhari Bhandari said that registration has been opened for the players. According to him, it has been arranged that the form can be filled directly and online till March 20. The form fee is Rs 500 for open students and Rs 300 for students. Free t-shirt and food will be arranged for the participants.
Elisa Tamang of Panchkanya-3 and Sudeep Rai of Likhu rural municipality-4 became champions in the Panchkanya cross-country race held on February 5 last year. Savina Rai and Kiran Tamang of Panchkanya-1 won the 5 km race for Panchkanya municipal level students. Nepal's record marathon runner Vaikunth Manandhar was honored with cash. The competition was supported by athletics family Nepal.
