With the help of captain Rohit Paudel and Puran Vick's half-centuries, the departmental team APF Club defeated Lumbini Pradesh in the Prime Minister's Cup ODI Men's National Cricket Tournament on Monday.
APF defeated Lumbini by 7 wickets in the match held at the Extratech Oval Cricket Ground in Rupandehi on Monday and appeared to be heading towards the title. This is the sixth consecutive victory of title claimant APF .
APF achieved the target of 224 runs given by Lumbini by losing 3 wickets in 41 overs and 5 balls. Captain Rohit Poudel and Pooran Wick became heroes in APFL victory. Pooran contributed the most with 72 runs. He faced 112 balls and hit 6 fours and a six. He was declared the player of the match. Captain Paudel scored 71 runs off 94 balls by hitting 7 fours. Opener Lokesh Buck and Sandeep Zora scored 21/21 runs apiece while Ashif Shaikh added 18 runs . In bowling, Lumbini's Rajendra Bam took three wickets.
Before that, Lumbini, who won the toss and batted first, scored 223 runs losing 8 wickets in the scheduled over. Two players scored half-centuries for Lumbini. Captain Dev Khanal scored the highest 63 runs. He hit four fours in 79 balls. Mrinal Gurung contributed 55 runs off 87 balls with the help of four fours.
Similarly, Akash Tripathi scored 22 runs, Prajwal Thapa scored 20 runs and Nirmal Gurung scored 12 unbeaten runs. In bowling, Amar Rautela and Abhishek Gautam took 3/3 wickets for APF . Mausam Dhakal bowled 10 overs and took two wickets at the cost of 45 runs. With this result, APF remains at the third position of the table with 12 points from 8 games. Defeated Lumbini has fallen to the sixth place in the table . Lumbini has won 4 out of 9 games and lost 5. As part of the
competition, there will be a competition between Madhesh and Sudurpaschim Province on Tuesday at the Extratech Oval Cricket Ground.
