Fusion Football Club Gaighat of Udaipur and Letang Football Club of Morang are clashing at Jutmil ground in Biratnagar on Sunday for the title of the fifth edition of the Mills Gold Cup football tournament.
Both teams are going to meet in the final for the first time. Letang defeated the host Laligurans Sporting Club in the quarter-finals by 4-2 goals in a tiebreaker. After that, in the semi-finals, the home team beat Pema Yuva Sporting Club by 6-3 and claimed the title.
Letang's coach Indra Rai said he is confident of winning the title. "In the finals, we will perform a technical game and our only goal is to capture the title," he said.
Udaipur's Fusion Football Club Gaighat defeated Saptari's Progressive Youth Club by 1-0 in the quarterfinals. After that, in the semi-finals, Itahari defeated TFC Talatalaiya by 5-1 to advance to the finals. Gaighat coach Vishal Rai said, "Our goal is to create history by raising the title."
Last year's Mills Gold Cup title was won by Armed Police Force (APF) Pakli Sunsari.
Mills Gold Cup winner will get 1 lakh 1 thousand and runner-up will get 51 thousand rupees.
8 teams from Koshi region along with one Indian team participated in the competition starting from Chait 3.
