Prime Minister's Cup: Madhesh Pradesh defeated by Lumbini

Lumbini Province won their fourth victory after defeating Madhesh Province by 83 runs in the Nepal Telecom Prime Minister's Cup Men's One Day Cricket Tournament. After Lumbini's spinner bowled hard, Madhesh Pradesh could not even win the medium target.

159  Chasing the winning target of runs, none of the Madhesh players could bat responsibly and Lumbini won by 83 runs.

Lumbini players including young players bowled four players from Madhesh and 3 players got out LBW. Madhesh players scored 75 runs after losing all wickets in 25.5 overs after 1-1 spumping out, runout and catch out.

Dipesh Das scored 23 runs with 1 four after playing 59 balls for Madhesh and got run out.

Harishankar Shah scored 14 runs off 33 balls with 1 boundary and got out LBW off Viprasan KC.

Madhesh, who had a good start in the first over, rushed to bat and got caught cheaply.

Madhesh Pradesh lost 4 wickets after scoring 33 runs in the first power play and was bowled out in 26.5 overs.

For Madhesh, no other player could score double-digit runs except for two. . When captain Anil Shah was out for 6 runs  Roshan Bick was bowled by Ramesh Kurmi for 4 runs  .

Mayan Yadav 2 runs, Pawan Sarraf 1 run, Pradeep Paswan 8 runs, Rupesh Singh 9 runs, Kamal Gupta 2 runs when returning to the pavilion  Vishal Patel and Ranjit Kumar could not open the account.

Ramesh Kurmi scored 10 runs with 2 maidens in 8 overs and took 4 important wickets to make the Madhesh team the target.

Viprasan KC took 3 wickets by giving away 7 runs with 3 maidens in 5 overs.

Captain Dev Khanal took 1 wicket by giving 8 runs in 2 overs, Ajay Chauhan took 1 wicket by spending 12 runs with 2 maidens in 7.5 overs. Akash Tripathi, who made 73 runs for Lumbini Pradesh, became the player of the match.

Captain Dev Khanal scored 16 runs with the help of 2 fours playing 25 balls and was a victim of LBW by Kamal Gupta. Other Lumbini players got out cheaply  . Opener duo Mrinal Gurung scored 6 runs and Manish Thapa scored 5 runs. Nar Bahadur Sarki scored 5 runs, Ajay Chauhan scored 4 runs, Nirmal Gurung and Viprasan KC scored 3 runs each, Prajwal Thapa and Ramesh Kurm added 1 run each.

After scoring a total of 29 runs in the first 10 overs, Lumbini, who lost both openers, scored a total of 60 runs by losing five wickets at the end of the 23 overs. After that, the players of Lumbini managed to score a moderate goal.

Kamal Gupta of Madhesh Pradesh bowled very hard and took 3 wickets with 4 maidens in 10 overs and spent 32 runs  . Vishal Patel also took 3 wickets with economical bowling. He bowled 5 overs  While taking 3 wickets for 13 runs, Harishankar Shah took 1 wicket for 14 runs with 1 maiden in 5 overs. Ranjith Kumar took 1 wicket with 32 runs in 10 overs while Pradeep Paswan also took 1 wicket with 21 runs in 8 overs.

Having played 4 matches so far, Lumbini has won 3 matches and lost 1 match and is in the fourth place in the points table with 8 points. Having played 4 matches, Madhesh Pradesh is still in the fifth position of the points table with 2 points after winning 1 match and losing 2. 

Lumbini had earlier defeated Koshi Pradesh by 26 runs. After losing to Nepal Police Club by 87 runs, Lumbini defeated Gandaki Province by 14 runs and Wagmati Province by 48 runs.

Likewise, Madhesh Pradesh defeated Koshi Pradesh by 165 runs. The departmental team lost to APF Club by 2 wickets and Nepal Police Club by 193 runs.

organized by Nepal Cricket Association CAN, coordinated by Provincial Cricket Association and managed by Dang Cricket Association, seven provincial teams including 3 departmental teams Army Club, APF Club and Nepal Police Club have participated in the tournament. The competition is being held in Rupandehi and Dang of Lumbini province from 25th of February.

46 matches are being played in the tournament which is being held in three stadiums, 17 at Siddharth Stadium in Rupandehi, 15 at Extratech Oval Cricket Ground and 14 at Deukhuri International Cricket Stadium at Lamhi in Dang.
