Police's unbeaten run in Prime Minister's Cup cricket continues
The departmental team Nepal Police Club has maintained its unbeaten run in the Prime Minister's Cup ODI Men's National Cricket Tournament.
Police defeated Sudurpaschim Pradesh by 61 runs on Monday with Lalit Rajwanshi's excellent bowling. This is the fifth consecutive victory of the police.
Pursuing the target of 161 runs given by the police for victory, Sudurpaschim was reduced to just 99 runs in 28.3 overs, losing all wickets.
Sher Mall contributed the most 32 runs for Sudurpaschim. Apart from Milan Bohra scoring 23 and Tek Rawat scoring 12 runs, other players could not score runs in double figures.
Lalit single-handedly took 6 wickets to cover Sudoor cheaply. Lalit bowled hard and spent only 16 runs in 7 overs. Sagar Dhakal took 2 wickets and Karan KC took one wicket.
Before that, Police won the toss and scored 160 runs in 47 overs, losing all wickets. Captain Dipendra Singh Airi contributed the most 42 runs for
police. Airy hit 5 fours in 47 balls. Arif Sheikh scored 40, Dilip Nath scored 19, Amit Shrestha scored 18 and Sagar Dhakal scored 22. Opener Arjun Saud scored 2 runs and Gulsan Jha scored one run while Kushal Bhurtel was dismissed without scoring a run.
Lalit Rajvanshi, who entered the field last, contributed 4 runs. Sourya Shrestha alone took four wickets in bowling. He spent 43 runs keeping a maiden in 10 overs. Bhojraj Bhatt took 3 wickets and Sher Mall took 2 wickets while Hemant Dhami took one wicket.
After this result, the undefeated Police remain at the top of the table with 10 points. This is the fourth consecutive defeat of Far West. Defeated Far West is at the bottom of the table with 2 points.
