Madhesh Pradesh defeated by 193 runs
Nepal Police Club, which is claiming the title, defeated Madhesh Pradesh by 193 runs and won the fourth consecutive victory in the Prime Minister's Cup.
Chasing the huge target of 289 runs given by the Police Club on Saturday at the Deukhuri International Cricket Stadium in Lamhi, the Madhesh Pradesh team scored 95 runs and won easily by 193 runs after being bowled out in 26.1 overs.
Lalit Narayan Rajvanshi took 5 important wickets with good bowling to cover Madhesh Pradesh cheaply.
In the fifth ball of the first over, captain Anilkumar Sah was bowled by Karan KC and returned to the pavilion for 4 runs. The wicket fell in 26.1 overs.
Dipesh Das of Madhesh scored 31 runs with the help of 1 six and 2 fours while playing 59 balls. Rupesh Singh scored 16 runs and Vishal Patel scored 13 runs. Harishankar Shah scored 3 runs, Roshan Vick scored 8 runs, Pawan Sarraf scored 3 runs, Nikhil Singh scored 7 runs and Kamal Gupta scored 1 run. Other players could not open an account.
Lalit took five wickets with 28 runs in 9.1 overs bowling. He took the wickets of Mayan Yadav, Harishankar Shah, Roshan Vick, Dipesh Das and Pawan Sarraf. Similarly, Kushal Bhurtel bowled 3 overs and took 2 wickets by giving away 12 runs with 2 maidens. Police's Karan KC, Sagar Dhakal and captain Dipendra Singh Airi took 1 wicket each. Earlier, the captain of Nepal Police Club, Dipendrasingh Airi, after scoring 63 runs in the captaincy, presented a huge target of 289 runs to the team of Madhesh Pradesh.
Police Club scored 288 runs. After winning the toss and batting first, Nepal Police Club scored 288 runs losing all wickets in 49.5 overs. Captain Dipendra Singh Airi played an explosive innings to score the highest run in the tournament so far. He scored 63 runs in 36 balls with the help of 4 sixes and 5 fours and was caught out by Nikhil Singh off Vishal Patel.
Similarly, Arif Sheikh scored 55 runs in 54 balls with the help of 1 six and 4 fours and was caught out by the captain Anil Shah on the ball of Vishal Patel.
Dilip Nath was caught LBW by Kamal Gupta in 45 runs. Opener Arjun Saud was caught out by Mayan Yadav off Ranjit Kumar for 47 runs.
Police Club's Shankar Rana scored 27 runs, Rashid Khan scored 14 runs and Kushal Bhurtel scored 11 runs.
As the first wicket, Kamal Gupta made a breakthrough by spumping out in the first ball of the eighth over, but the Madhesh players had to struggle for the third wicket.
Dilip Nath and Arif Sheikh shared a partnership of 50 runs for the third wicket. Similarly, another partnership of 50 runs was formed in 32 balls between Dipendra and Arif.
Rupesh Singh scored 62 runs in 8.5 overs and took 4 wickets for Madhesh Pradesh. Vishal Patel took 3 wickets with 57 runs in 9 overs while Kamal Gupta bowled 10 overs and took 2 wickets with 57 runs.
Ranjit Kumar took 1 wicket for 40 runs with 1 maiden in 7 overs . With this win, Police Club has gone undefeated in four games and climbed to the top spot with 8 points.
Madhesh Pradesh fell to sixth place with 2 points after winning 1 and losing 2 out of 3 matches.
Earlier on Friday, when Police beat APF by two wickets, Lalit Narayan Rajwanshi took 7 wickets. After defeating Derby APF by 2 wickets on Friday, the departmental team Police Club is showing its claim for the PM Cup after defeating Koshi Province by 154 runs and Lumbini Province by 87 runs.
Under the organization of Nepal Cricket Association CAN, the coordination of Provincial Cricket Association and the management of Dang Cricket Association, the match between Lumbini Province and Bagmati Province Tom will be played at Deukhuri International Cricket Stadium on Sunday at 9 am.
3 departmental teams Army club, APF club and police club along with seven provincial teams are playing the tournament in Rupandehi and Dang of Lumbini province from February 25th.
The matches of the tournament, which started simultaneously at Siddharth Cricket Stadium and Extratech Oval ground in Rupandehi, are being played on a round-robin basis.
