Chief Minister of Karnali Province Yamlal Kandel has requested the National Sports Council not to move the date of the 10th National Sports Competition.

At the meeting of the original organizing committee of the 10th National Sports Tournament held in Kathmandu today, Chief Minister Kandel asked the Council not to postpone the date as it would cause confusion and loss of public trust.

The 10th national sports competition is scheduled to be held from June 2 to 10. After moving the date several times, in today's meeting, Chief Minister Kandel expressed the view that it cannot go beyond May.

'The current proposed date is not so favorable but there is no situation to go beyond that,' he said. Stating that the state government is already moving ahead with the construction of the stadium for the national sports competition, Chief Minister Kandel said that the state government will fulfill its responsibility to make the competition a success. He said that the Ministry of Sports has not coordinated to make guidelines for

competitions. "There is a guideline in which the provincial government also participates. It would have been better if we were included in the guidelines, but we will fulfill our responsibility in whatever has been made," he said.
