The dream of winning the first title of the Nepali women's national football team could not be fulfilled on Wednesday. Myanmar defeated Nepal 2-0 in the final of the Four Nations Cup at Dashrath Stadium.
Although Nepal had complete control over the game, the team could not take advantage of it and Myanmar scored a goal within two minutes of the second half.
Yu Par Qin scored a goal in the 62nd minute of the game to help Myanmar take the lead. Being one goal behind, Nepal came under more pressure and Geeta Rana scored a suicide goal in the 64th minute. Geeta directed the ball to her own post while saving Win's shot. In the 70th minute of the match, Rashmikumar's shot was saved by Myanmar goalkeeper Myo Mya Mya.
This is the 13th final played by Nepal and Nepal has been defeated in all of them. This is the sixth match that Nepal has faced Myanmar. Out of this, Nepal has not been able to win any of them so far.
Nepal's dream of winning the first title in four decades is incomplete. In 2019, Myanmar also defeated Nepal in the final of the Hero Gold Cup held in Bhubaneswar, India.
