The opening match of the 15th edition of Itahari Gold Cup Invitational Football Tournament will be played on Saturday between host National Jagriti Club and visiting team United Kharsang Football Club (UKFC).

The match at Itahari stadium will start at 3 pm. In the last edition, host National Awakening Club and visiting team UKFC contested in the quarter-finals. Rashtriya Jagriti won 5-4 in the penalty shootout. 8 teams will participate in the

Gold Cup. Machindra Club, former champions Church Boys United, Jhapa 11 Football Club, NRT, two-time champions Everest Youth Club Morang, Dharan Football Club, hosts Rashtriya Jagriti and UKFC will participate.

The winner will receive 10 lakhs and the runner-up will receive 5 lakhs, said the coordinator of the National Awakening Club, Soraj Thapa. Coordinator Thapa informed that 1 lakh will be given to the best player.
