In the first leg of the knockout play-off round of the European Champions League, Real Madrid won a thrilling 3-2 victory over Manchester City on Tuesday. Real took the lead in the first leg by overturning the position of being behind twice in the game.

The defeat at home has left the English champions out of the tournament.

In other matches, Paris Saint Germain (PSG), Juventus and Borussia Dortmund also won. Erling Haaland scored twice for City at the Etihad. Jude Bellingham scored the decisive goal of the game for Real and he scored in the second minute of injury time of the second half. "We played well today, but we were behind most of the time," Wellingham responded.

Real's other two goals were scored by Kylin Mbappe and Brahim Diaz. PSG beat Brest 3-0 at home and put themselves in a strong position. With this victory, his journey to the next stage seems certain. Juventus beat PSV Eindhoven 2-1. Similarly, Dortmund also defeated Sporting Lisbon 3-0 at their home.
