Nepalese athletes have performed satisfactorily in the 9th Winter Asian Games being held in Harvin, China. Four players from Nepal are participating in the tournament.

Out of that, in men's slalom run 1, Safalram Shrestha finished 35th among the competitors. In Run 1 he covered the distance in 1 minute 00.81 seconds. When 45 competitors succeed 

Chowang Mingur Tamang of Nepal could not finish. Run-2 Safalram finished in 28th place. He clocked 58.05 seconds. 39 contestants were successful. Japan's Takayuki Koyama won gold, South Korea's Dongyun Jung won silver and Japan's Neo Kamada won bronze. Overall, Sufalram stood at the 29th position. 

In the women's slalom run-1 and 2, both athletes from Nepal have completed the distance by remaining behind. Deborah Timalsina finished 39th and Lakshmi Rai finished 41st in Run 1. Deborah clocked 1 minute 34.46 seconds and Lakshmi clocked 1 minute 38.91 seconds. In Run 2, Deborah finished 34th and Lakshmi 35th. Deborah covered the distance in 1 minute 32.42 seconds and Lakshmi in 1 minute 43.22 seconds. 6 players could not complete the distance. Japan's Chisaki Maeda won women's slalom gold. 

South Korea's Sohui Jim won silver and Japan's Irene Watanabe won bronze. Nepal Olympic Committee President Jeevanram Shrestha distributed medals to the winners of men's alpine slalom and women's 5 km cross country. Shrestha is also the chairman of Sports and Environment Commission of OCA.
