NRT won the title of the 25th edition of the Budhasubba Gold Cup football tournament. Former winners NRT defeated Church Boys United 2-1 in the final held at Dharan Stadium on Saturday and defended their title.

Henry Addise Poko scored twice to help NRT win the Budhasubba Gold Cup for the second time in a row. He scored in the 26th and 58th minutes of the game. Before that, Anant Tamang from Church Boys scored a goal in the 23rd minute of the game to give the team the lead, but NRT proved to be lucky as they could not come back.

winner NRT won a prize of Rs 10 lakh. Runners-up Church Boys settled for Rs 5 lakh. NRT is also the title winner of the 10th edition. NRT has dominated individual awards as well. Shishir Lekhi of NRT was declared the best player. He was awarded one lakh rupees. Samir Tamang and Armand Vidong of Church Boys were declared the top scorers. They scored 3-3. Both were awarded 35,000.

Best Goalkeeper Pramijaya Gachchdar of NRT, Best Coach Hariom Shrestha of NRT, Best Forward Sameer Tamang of Church Boys, Best Defender Padam Bhattarai of Church Boys, Best Midfielder Rohan Karki of Church Boys were selected. They each received 25,000 prizes.

Some players of NRT and Church Boys looked tired due to the Dharan-Pokhara-Dharan race as ANFA contested the competition. Forming two teams from the same club, these teams participated in Aha Rara and Budhasubba Gold Cup. NRT defeated Jhapa's Kakadvitta Football Training Center 3-1 in the quarterfinals. The team beat UKFC India 3-1 in the semi-finals.

Church Boys, who reached the final for the first time, defeated Nepal Police Club 1-0. In the semi-finals, the Church Boys advanced to the title clash with a 7-0 victory against Bhutan's RTC Club. ANFA President Pankaj Nemwang, Senior Honorary Vice President Kishore Rai and others gave away prizes to the winning players.
