Bhutan's RTC Football Club has entered the semi-finals of the 25th International Invitational Budhasubba Gold Cup. In the third quarter-final held at Dharan Stadium on Monday, the Bhutanese team secured a place in the semi-finals by defeating Rashtiya Jagruti Club of Itahari by 4-1.
Sonam Yossi, Sonam Jugarul Chavjang, Karma T Jamso and Noida Yosel scored the goals in RTC's easy jast. Yosi scored in the 9th minute of the game, Chawzang in the 53rd minute, Jamso in the 61st minute and Yosel in the 70th minute. Alex scored the only goal for Itahari in the 77th minute. After trailing 1-0 in the first half, RTC dominated Itahari in the second half. RTC's Sonam Yossi, the man of the match for the
game, received a cash prize of 10,000 rupees. RTC will now compete against Church Boys United in the semi-finals for entry to the finals on Wednesday. Before that, the last quarter-final match on Tuesday will be between the defending champions New Road Team NRT and Kakadvita Football Training Center Jhapa.
The winner of the final match to be held on January 26 will get Rs 10 lakh and the runner-up will get Rs 5 lakh. Pratap Tamang, president of the organizer Dharan Football Club informed that the best player will get 1 lakh rupees in cash and the best player will get 25 thousand rupees.
