Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) has taken disciplinary action against cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane. During the Jai Trophy, he was punished after commenting on the quality of Nepal's umpires on social media.

Sandeep has been dealt with under Article 2.7 of the Players' Code of Conduct. CAN spokesperson Chumbi Lama informed. According to Lama, Sandeep has been banned from a match organized by CAN. Article 2.7 prohibits making public comments about any CAN, ACC and ICC, players, match officials and teams .

Sandeep had commented that the condition of umpires in Nepal was very weak during the Jai Trophy . 'I should not say, but there is a need for significant improvement in the level of umpiring in Nepal. It has been stable for a long time . If necessary steps are not taken, many players are likely to be affected due to wrong decisions in the future...,' he wrote on Facebook.
