Narayani Madhyamik Vidyalaya of Bharatpur has won the inaugural game of 'PFC Emerging Cup-2081' which started today in Chitwan with the aim of connecting sports with education.
Narayani Secondary School started victoriously by defeating Sainik Residential Secondary School 1-0. Sandeep Gurung scored in Narayani's win. He also became the man of the match of the Gurung game.
On Saturday, the first match will be between Narayani English Public School and Balmiki Shiksha Sadan at 11 o'clock, while the second match will be between Arunedaya Madhyamik School and Orbit School at 1 o'clock, Club President Postraj Timilsina informed. 16 schools of Chitwan are participating in this tournament, which started under the organization of Patihani Football Club. The game will be held at Sunder Basti Khel Maidan of Bharatpur-14 till January 12th. Inaugurating the
game, Bharatpur Metropolitan Municipality ward no. Rajendra Sakhi, the ward president of 14, praised the competition as a success in identifying new players from school. He said that he found the inter-school versions of this game to be very successful in connecting sports with education. The winner of the competition will get 10,000 cash along with sports equipment worth 30,000 rupees. Similarly, the runner-up will get 10,000 cash and 15,000 rupees worth of sporting goods, trophies, medals and certificates, informed the secretary of the club, Suman Paudel. The disciplined team has been provided with sports materials worth 5,000, the best player, the best goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, forward, and the highest scorer with certificates and awards.
Patihani Football Club has been doing various activities along with training for the production of new players since its inception. Earlier, the club linked sports and education by providing coach training to teachers. Ward No. 14 and 22 of Bharatpur Metropolitan Municipality are the promoters of the competition.
