Nepal has been defeated in the practice match of the ICC U-19 Women's T-20 World Cup. Nepal was defeated by nine runs in the match against West Indies.
In the first practice match held today in Malaysia, West Indies gave Nepal a target of 110 runs for victory. Nepal's innings ended in 100 runs in 19.1 overs. For Nepal, Simana KC scored 23 runs, Pooja Mahato scored 18 runs, Kiran Kunwar scored 18 runs and Soni Pakhrin scored 15 runs. West Indies' Trisha Hardat, Alia Vickies and Amiya Gilbert took two wickets each.
Earlier, West Indies, who won the toss and batted first, scored 109 runs after losing four wickets in 20 overs. Jazara Cluxton scored an unbeaten 22 for West Indies. Similarly, captain Samara Ramanath contributed 25 runs and Abigail Bryce contributed 19 runs.
Nepal's Simana KC and Rachna Kumari Chaudhary took one wicket each.
Nepal will play the second practice match against America on January 2nd. Nepal is in Group 'D' in the U-19 Women's T20 World Cup, which will begin on January 5th in Malaysia. The group includes Bangladesh, Scotland and Australia. Nepal will play Bangladesh on January 5, Scotland on January 7 and Australia on January 9.
