The seventh edition of the Wagmati Gold Cup National Football Tournament-2081 to be held in the eastern region of Makwanpur is going to start from the first week of February. It was informed in the press conference held on Sunday that the tournament organized by Wagmati rural municipality sports development committee will be conducted from 1st to 10th of February.

The competition will be held at Saheed Smriti Stadium built with the investment of the municipality located in Wagmati-4, Jhurjhure. The previous editions were held at the playground of Janata Mavi Faparbari. The winner of the

contest will receive a cash  10 lakhs and the runner-up will get a shield, medal and certificate along with Rs.5 lakhs. According to Wagmati Rural Municipality Sports Development Committee Chairman Raharsingh Thing, 10 teams including 7 from 'A' Division and 3 from Mofasal will participate in the tournament. Organizers have estimated that 74 lakh 73 thousand rupees will be spent for organizing the competition.

'We have advanced the preparations for the competition. The ground is being upgraded. This year, we are more happy as the first time a national level match will be held in the new stadium,' said Thing, chairman of the committee.
