Homalal Shrestha of Tribhuvan Army Club has won the title of the 4th Rushing Ultra Marathon-2081 competition.
Shrestha won the title by covering the distance of 42.2 kilometers in 2 hours, 57 minutes and 44 seconds in the marathon competition held by Rishing Rural Municipality of the district on Saturday. Similarly, Rajen Menyongbo of Army Club became second by crossing the said distance in 2 hours 59 minutes 36 seconds, while Junesh Khadka of Army succeeded in crossing the distance in 2 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds and became third. 32 runners participated in the competition.
The entrance of Rishing rural municipality, ward no. 8 from Dharung to ward no. 65,000 for the first, 40,000 for the second, 25,000 for the third and 10,000 rupees for the consolation prize and certificate.
Similarly, to encourage the local runners participating in the competition, the rural municipality has given prizes of 5 thousand, 4 thousand and 3 thousand rupees respectively to the first, second and third runners who reach the final point.
Govind Karki of Tribhuvan Army Club won the third Rushing Ultra Marathon title held last year. In the competition, Gopal Tamang of Tribhuvan Army Club was second, Tilak Bahadur Sunuwar was third and Karan Rawal of Kathmandu was fourth.
Rajendrakrishna Shrestha, chairman of the rural municipality, said that with the development of the rural municipality, the ultra marathon competition was organized with the aim of introducing the municipality to the national and international level through sports.
