Australia won the Test series against India

Australia defeated India by 6 wickets in the fifth, final and decisive Test on Sunday. Set a target of 162 runs for victory at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Australia achieved it by losing four wickets.

With this, Australia won the series 3-1 and won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. This is the first time in 10 years that Australia has defeated India in a Test series. Beau Webster scored 39 and Travis Head scored 34 for him.

They shared 58 not out for the fifth wicket. Opener Usman Khawaja scored 41 runs for the home team. Similarly, another opener, Sam Kontas, contributed 22 runs. The famous Indian bowler Krishna took 3 wickets.

Earlier, India scored 157 runs in their second innings and were bowled out. India started the day with 141 runs for the loss of 6 wickets and the team lasted long against the sharp Australian bowling and lost all the wickets soon.  

Scott Boland took 6 wickets for 45 runs for Australia. Similarly, Pat Cummins took three wickets for 44 runs. After India scored 185 runs in their first innings, Australia scored 181 runs in reply. India needed to win the Sydney Test if they were to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. But Australia did not allow it to be completed.
