Bowlers Kagiso Rabada and Marco Janssen proved to be the heroes with the bat as South Africa pulled off a sensational dramatic two-wicket victory over Pakistan on the fourth day of the first Test on Sunday.

Chasing 148 runs for victory, South Africa was at a bad position of 99 runs after losing eight wickets.

34-year-old Mohammad Abbas bowled fatally for Pakistan and after taking 6 wickets for 54 runs, South Africa came close to defeat. But Rabada, who was winning for his team as a bowler, this time came in as a batsman and scored 31 unbeaten runs in 26 balls.

Rabada, who hit all over the field, was equally strongly supported by Jansen. Janssen remained unbeaten on 16 runs. These two made an unbeaten partnership of 51 runs for the ninth wicket and gave South Africa a thrilling and sensational victory.

Abbas bowled 19.3 consecutive overs. Abbas, who had taken two wickets the previous day, took full advantage of the pitch helping the bowler and bowled flawlessly. Personally, he has also made an unexpected comeback in this Pakistani team.

He last played a Test in Kingston in 2021 against the West Indies. But his brave performance was not enough for Pakistan.

Pakistan are struggling for their first win in South Africa in 18 years and the streak has continued once again. This win meant that South Africa qualified for the World Test Championship final. The match will be held in England in June next year. South Africa's victory now also ensures that Australia and India will reach the only final.

Aiden Markram and Temba Bavuma batted solidly at the start of the day. South Africa lost two wickets and started the game ahead by 27 runs. They shared a partnership of 43 runs for the fourth wicket. Markram, who scored 89 runs in the first innings, scored 37 runs and was bowled by Abbas. The ball came with very little height and was not playable in any sense. Captain Babuma was also caught behind the wicket by Abbas after scoring 40 runs.

Before that, Bavuma shared a 34-run partnership with David Bedingham. Ultra Edge's technique showed that Babuma was not out. The ball left only his trouser pocket. South Africa then managed to score just three runs off 12 balls and lost four wickets. Naseem Shah dismisses Kelly Verayane. Abbas also took the wickets of Bedingham and Corbin Boch. At that time Pakistan's victory seemed possible.

Rabada and Jansen took South Africa to 116 runs by losing eight wickets till lunch. Markram was the 'player of the match' and he said, 'Now we are feeling a lot of relief. The game itself was tense. For South African cricket, reaching the final of the World Test Championship is a huge achievement in itself. That's why we have become emotional. He scored a valuable 89 runs in the first innings.

South African captain Bavuma also responded that he became emotional after the win. He said, “This game is a good advertisement for Test cricket. We are all happy to win this game. There were many ups and downs throughout the game. But in the end, the victory was ours.

He also said that he was in doubt whether he was out or not. His counterpart Pakistani captain San Masood said that despite the defeat, he was proud of his team's performance.
