Australia defeated India by 184 runs on the fifth day of the fourth Test in Melbourne on Monday. With this, Australia has taken a 2-1 lead in the five-test series.
Chasing a target of 340 runs for victory, India were all out after scoring 155 runs in their second innings. The visiting team showed no sign of winning the game at any time and the entire team lasted only 79.1 overs.
For India, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 84 runs and Rishav Pant scored 30 runs. Apart from that, none of the other batsmen could contribute rapidly. Pat Cummins and Scott Boland took three wickets each for Australia.
