The second Lalitpur Mayor's Cup Veteran Football Tournament will be held from January 22 under the joint initiative of Kusunti Yuva Club and Lalitpur Metropolitan City Ward 13.
Niraj Khadka, president of the organizing club, informed at the press conference held on Wednesday that 22 teams have already confirmed their participation in the competition. The organizers expect 32 teams to participate. The registration fee of
participating teams is set at 10,000. Teams participating from outside Kathmandu will not be charged a fee. The team participating in the
at a side competition should include 4 players above 40 years of age, 3 players above 45 years of age and 1 player above 50 years of age. The
winner will receive a cash prize of 2 lakh and the runner-up will receive a cash prize of 1 lakh. 5,000 will be awarded to the best goalkeeper, best defender and man of the series. According to the organizers, about 16 lakhs will be spent to conduct the
competition. It was informed that the organizing ward has provided 5 lakh rupees. The matches of the tournament, which will last until December 29, will be played at the Jawalakhel ground. Last edition was won by Kupandol.
