The 6th Mayor's Cup Lalitpur Metropolitan City inter-ward table tennis tournament organized by Ward 9 of Lalitpur Metropolitan City has started on Wednesday in Gashchen village of Patan.

Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City Chiribabu Maharjan inaugurated the competition and said that there is a good atmosphere for table tennis in Lalitpur.

There are many good players who represent Nepal in international competitions in Lalitpur. The atmosphere of table tennis in Lalitpur is also good.'' Mayor Maharjan said, 'I have found that the interest of players of all age groups is increasing.' Raju Maharjan, chairman of Ward 9, the organizer said.

competition includes 16 competitions. All have cash prizes. The competition coordinator Sanju Awale informed that the total prize money is 368 thousand rupees. A running shield will also be awarded to the ward that succeeds in becoming the

team champion. According to Nikesh Joshi, the estimated budget of the competition is around 21 lakh 83 thousand rupees.
