The logo and slogan of this year's men's franchise volleyball league NVL has been released on Tuesday.
Nepal Volleyball League (NVL) is going to be organized by Kedia Group. A franchise league is going to be held for the first time for the men's side of volleyball, which has been recognized as Nepal's national sport. 6 teams will compete in the tournament under the approval of Nepal Volleyball Association.
Minister of Youth and Sports Tejulal Chaudhary announced the logo of NVL. It is said that the volleyball game is developing dynamically in Nepal and the logo expresses the feeling of unity and dynamism as a message. According to the organizer, the color used in the logo reflects the flag of the nation.
NVL's slogan is 'A new flight of heights'. The slogan carries the meaning of establishing volleyball, a game played everywhere in Nepal, in a new place by making it more organized and professional. Ashwin Kedia, the CEO of Nepal Volleyball League, said that although volleyball has been announced as a national game, it has not been able to accelerate its professional development and expansion. He expressed his hope that the start of the league will mark the beginning of a new chapter in Nepali volleyball.
In the NVL, which will probably be held in March, 6 teams will compete on a single round robin basis for 9 days. There is a provision to have 9 local and three foreign players in a team. The top two teams in the league will play in the final. The team and marquee players will be announced soon.
For NVL, Kedia Group signed a 7-year contract with Nepal Volleyball Association in May. According to the agreement, the group will give Rs 35 lakh to the volleyball association every year. On the same occasion, the players of the Kava U-20 men's silver winning team in Sri Lanka were also honored with 15,000.
