Olympian player Prince lost to India's Kavin Thangam. Prince, who won the first set 22-20 in the Rakhep Covered Hall in Tripureshwar, then lost two consecutive sets 21-12, 21-13.
In women's singles, top seed Rasila Maharjan lost to Indian Aditi Bhatt. She lost the match in straight sets 21-11, 21-14.
Nepal's Kshitij Khanal won the first round of men's singles qualifying round in this championship recognized by the World Badminton Federation. He defeated India's Charan Nayak 21-14, 17-21, 21-17. However, in the second round, he lost to India's Siddhant Salar 21-18, 21-8. Among the Nepalese players, Dev Rana defeated India's Siddhant Salar 21-11, 21-11, Bhoj Bahadur Gurung defeated India's Mohit Gowada Palaksha 21-9, 21-10. Jeevan Acharya defeated India's Pranav Ram Nagalingam 21-12, 21-15, Praful Maharjan defeated Khandokar Abdus of Bangladesh. He lost to Sod 21-15, 21-18, Aman Maharjan lost to India's Atul John 21-15, 21-9 and Sunil Joshi lost to Senuk Samaratne of Sri Lanka 21-18, 21-8.
