Sudurpaschim Royals and Janakpur Bolts are going to compete for a place in the final of Nepal Premier League (NPL) Cricket. This is the equation of Qualifiers 1 after Sudoorpaschim won by 6 wickets against Karnali Yaks on Monday.

Sudurpaschim was at the top with 12 points while Janakpur collected 10 points in 7 games. Chitwan Rhinos and Karnali, who have equal 8 points, are going to play in the eliminator of the playoffs, remaining third and fourth. The winning team will play against the defeated team of Qualifiers 1 for a place in the final. Eliminators will be played in the morning and Qualifiers 1 in the afternoon on Wednesday.

Despite having the same 8 points with Chitwan and Karnali, Kathmandu Gurkhaz are out of the race for the playoffs because they are behind in the net run rate. Karnali, who came into bat after winning the toss for the first time in the NPL, were bowled out for 101 runs after playing the scheduled 20 overs at the Trivi Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Monday.

Had Sudurpaschim achieved this goal in 12.2 overs, Gurkhaz would have overtaken Karnali and reached the playoffs by being ahead in net run rate. After Sudurpaschim finished in 15.2 overs, Karnali is also safe in the top four . Ishan Pandey scored an unbeaten 38 off 36 balls to win Sudurpaschim. He hit 4 fours .

Arif Shaikh scored 4 runs and remained unbeaten. After scoring 28 runs and losing 3 wickets, Ishan and captain Dipendra Singh Airi shared a partnership of 67 runs for the fourth wicket. Dipendra played 29 balls and scored 38 runs by hitting 4 fours and 1 six. Vinod Bhandari 4, Saif Zaib 11 and Brandon McMullen got out for 3 runs. Captain Sompal Kami, Bipin Sharma and Nandan Yadav took 1 wicket.

Harmeet Singh took 3 wickets against Karnali who could not bat openly before. He dismissed Nandan and Vipin in the last over and spent only 17 runs in 4 overs. Dipendra Singh took 20 wickets in 4 overs and Scott Kuglen took 2-2 wickets with 29 runs in 4 overs. One wicket remained in the name of Jaib.
