The former winner New Road team 'NRT' has entered the finals of the '2nd Elam Gold Cup' held in Ilam. NRT defeated the rival Redstar Jhapa by 2 goals to 1 and made the journey to the finals of the Elam Gold Cup.
NRT's Anjan Bisht scored the first goal in 45 minutes in the final match of the semi-final stage that was completed on Thursday. This goal is his first (debut) goal after entering NRT.
In the 53rd minute, Emmanuel Botex, a foreign player who played for Redstar Jhapa, scored a counter-goal against NRT to tie the game. In the 61st minute, Vivek Gurung scored the second goal for NRT. This goal scored by him became decisive for NRT. With this win, NRT will face league winners Church Boys Club for the Elam Gold Cup title. In Thursday's match, the first goal scorer of NRT was declared man of the match.
8 teams including one from India participated in the competition which started on 21st Masinr. The final match of the tournament will be held on November 29. The winner will receive a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh and the runner-up will receive Rs 5 lakh.
