Laliguras managed to retain the Mayor's Shield title

Former winners Laligurans National Academy have defended the team champion title with 29 gold, 6 silver and 11 bronze medals in the 3rd Mayer Running Shield sports competition.

In the competition organized by Tarkeshwar Municipality, Himarashmi came second in the team with 13 gold, 26 silver and 14 bronze. Himarshmi, the champion of the first edition, was the runner-up in the last edition as well.

Kinder Garden, which came third, won 8 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze. Mansingh Dharam Mavi, who is in the fourth position, won 5 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze. The top four runners-up received prizes of Rs 1 lakh, 60 thousand, 40 thousand and 20 thousand respectively.

In athletics, Laligurans became the team champion with 19 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze. Team champion Banda Laliguras won 6 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals in karate. In Taekwondo, Kaushal Mavi became the team champion with 3 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze. Kinder Garden, who became the team champion in USU, won 8 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze. In table tennis, Himarshmi became the team champion with 2 gold and 1 silver. Himarshmi also became the champion in badminton with 1 gold and 2 silver.

Sacred Heart won the football title in both male and female categories. Sacred Heart was the winner in Kabaddi category and Himarashmi was the winner in female category. Angels Heart and Mansingh Dharma Mavi won the title in female volleyball. Laligurans in junior boys and Himarashmi in senior girls won the basketball title.

Coordinator Rajendra Prasad Timilsina said that 3,454 players from 53 schools participated in 10 different games from November 18 with the slogan 'Khel Tarkeshwar, Sandesh Ekta'.

The winner was awarded by Tarkeshwar Municipality Mayor Krishnahari Maharjan, Tilagufa Municipality Mayor Shankar Prasad Upadhyay, Bhanu Municipality Mayor Anandraj Tripathi and others.
