Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has said that star player Kylin Mbappe is disappointed that he missed another penalty. Due to that poor performance, the defending champion Real Madrid lost 2-1 to Athletico Bilbao in the Spanish La Liga on Wednesday.
Mbappe also failed to score a penalty against Liverpool in the European Champions League. This defeat in the domestic league kept Barcelona's four-point lead at the top. Barcelona has 37 points from 16 games. Real has 33 points from 15 games.
After Alejandro Berengar gave Bilbao the early lead, Mbappe failed to take the penalty. Then Jude Bellingham scored for Real. Gorka Gurujeta, a substitute player for Bilbao, scored the winning goal in the 80th minute. After the
defeat and penalty failure, more pressure has been created on Mbappe. Coach Ancelotti said after the game, "Mbappe is naturally sad and disappointed. But he has no other choice but to improve his game.
Mbappe, who has scored 10 goals in the first 20 games in all competitions since coming to Real, is struggling to get back into shape. Ancelotti said, "He is not in his natural rhythm now. But he is a player capable of performing well.'
