Jainarayan Shah, the chief executive of the organizing team, said that the tournament will prove to be important in the development of women's football in Western Nepal. "Lumwini Cup will be a prestigious football tournament in Nepal," he said, "We will invite other teams from SAARC countries in the coming years."

Bhojraj Shahi, a member of All Nepal Football Association and president of Banke District Football Association, said that the tournament will create new opportunities for women players. Angela Tumbappo Subba, captain of the national women's football team, said that it is a pleasure to have a national level women's football tournament in Nepalgunj.

'Lumbini Cup is a good opportunity for Nepali women football players . It gives inspiration and encouragement to the new generation who want to play football,' she said, 'If such competitions are organized in other parts of the country, Nepali women's football will definitely benefit.'

Rama Singh, the first captain of the Nepali women's team, said that it was a pleasure to start a national-level women's football tournament from the private sector after four decades of the start of women's football in Nepal.
