Babar Azam has resigned as the captain of Pakistan cricket team. He announced his resignation by posting on social media. He has said that he has resigned from the captaincy to give time to his family and his game.
'It is an honor to lead the team. But now it's time for me to step down and focus on my game," he wrote.
After Pakistan's poor performance in the World Cup-2023, Babar had already left the leadership. But the Pakistan Cricket Board again gave him the captaincy responsibility in March.
Babar was given the responsibility of captaining the Pakistani cricket team in the Twenty20 and ODI formats. In the World Cup held in India, Pakistan lost five out of nine matches in the league stage and the team failed to enter the semi-finals.
