Revathiraman Dulal, who is on the absconding list in the Ambe Koshi Savings and Loan Cooperative fund embezzlement case, was seen on the stage along with the central leaders at the Congress program.

Even though Dulal, who is on the fugitive list, participated in a public event on Tuesday, the police could not arrest him. Congress Sunsari district leader and convention representative Dulal is an absconding accused in the misappropriation of co-operative funds case.

He was also a competitor from Sunsari 4 (1) in the state assembly election of 2074. Dulal, who is considered close to Congress leader Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, was defeated by UML's Jagdish Prasad Kusiat at that time.

50-year-old Dulal living in Mahendranagar of Sunsari and living in Itahari sub-metropolis-6 had taken an unsecured loan of Rs 1 crore 31 lakh 32 thousand 500. It is seen that he has to pay interest of 5 lakh 41 thousand 30 rupees to the cooperative. It is mentioned in the case filed by the police that he has Rs 10,000 14 savings in the cooperative. It is mentioned in the indictment that Dulal has shares worth 256 thousand 800 rupees in the cooperative.

Dulal is still participating in public events. On Tuesday, he participated in a program in Sunsari along with Congress leader Gyanendra Bahadur Karki.

The police have filed a case against 56 people including Dulal in the Sunsari District Court for being involved in the embezzlement of 477 million 66 thousand 459 rupees of Ambe Koshi Savings and Loan Cooperative, which has its central office in Itahari. The chairman of the cooperative, Fadindra Magar, has been sent to prison for the preliminary investigation, while more than half of the people, including Dulal, are still absconding. Along with Dulal, Devendra Basnet, Meenkumar Magar, Bhojkumar Pulami Magar, Kiran Ale, Hirakumari Magar, Badriprasad Regmi, Nagendra Gurung and Suman Bhandari are absconding. 

Similarly, Amit Rai, Leela Khadka, Ashok Rai, Ekraj Pahadi, Dhan Bahadur Magar, Dhanusha Parajuli (Basnet) alias Dhankumari Parajuli, Dipesh Rai, Kshitij Rai and Korvert Kumar Shrestha are also absconding. Similarly, I remember Karki, Ramesh Paudel, Tikaram Bhattarai, Hari Bahadur Khadka, Manoj Adhikari, Naveen Paudel, Rampravesh Shah, Yashoda Paudel, Rudra Bahadur Paudel, Pashupati Shrestha, Purnabandhu Neupane, Shanta Paudel, Hemu Shrestha, Gangacharan Shah Teli, Sunita Samal Magar, Vishnu Kumar Vic and Leela Karki are also absconding for 9 months. Sunsari police registered a case against them on December 12.

Subba called Bishnumaya, who lives in Itahari-4 in Sundarharaincha, Morang, has also taken an unsecured loan of 21 lakh 55 thousand rupees from Ambe Koshi Cooperative. He has interest of 3 lakh 82 thousand 229 rupees and savings of 5 thousand 410 rupees in the cooperative. Subba has a share worth 83 thousand 500 rupees in that cooperative. 

Amrita Subba, who is also a central member of the UML and a cooperative campaigner, has been released after paying a bond of 5 lakh rupees. District Public Prosecutor's Office Sunsari has informed that he appeared directly in the court without being detained by the police and was released on bail of 5 lakh rupees. It is mentioned that Subba's name is Amrita Subba called Bishnumaya. He is also the managing member of Subba National Cooperative Federation and National Cooperative Bank. She is also the former president of Women's Savings and Credit Cooperative in Itahari.

Co-operative owners Rahul Aggarwal, Kumar Ale and Shiladevi Gajmer have been released after paying a bond of 10 lakhs. Sagar Rai 15 lakhs, Tek Bahadur Charmkar 3 lakhs, Vimala Chaudhary Mainali 1 lakhs, Sujan Chaudhary 2 lakhs and Sagar Chaudhary 7 lakhs have been released. Similarly, Ashika Rai 2 lakh, Krishna Bahadur Katwal 3 lakh 50 thousand, Taraman Siring Limbu 2 lakh and Chandrakumar Gelal have been released after paying 1 lakh bail. Similarly, Tara Rai 1 lakh 65 thousand, Bhumi Prasad Acharya 1 lakh, Khadga Koirala 5 lakh, Shambhu Dahal 1 lakh 95 thousand, Chudamani Niraula 1 lakh 70 thousand and Bhuvankumar Raut have paid 1 lakh 50 thousand.

co-operative victims have been complaining that the embezzlers have not been caught due to access . However, Sunsari Police Chief and Police Superintendent Bipin Regmi said that the search has been intensified to arrest the persons on the fugitive list. Earlier, the savers had been protesting for two months demanding the return of the money saved in the cooperative before the directors were arrested. They also surrounded the houses of the provincial cooperative registrar and training office and the directors of cooperatives located in Inaruwa. There are 300 share members in the cooperative, which has more than 5,000 customers. The cooperative had been doing business with service centers in 3 locations namely Biratnagar in Morang, Biratchok and Damak in Jhapa.
