In today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, the main opposition and other opposition parties continued their protest, demanding a clear response from the government regarding the border dispute.

As soon as the meeting began, when opposition party lawmakers stood up from their seats, Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal, noting the ongoing protest on the same issue, allotted time for one member from the opposition parties to briefly express their views.

Congress lawmaker Harina Devi Kami, objecting to Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s statement in the House of Representatives on Jestha 17, saying “Nepal has also encroached on India’s land...”, demanded that the Prime Minister provide a clear response and that the statement be removed from the parliamentary record.

After that, when other opposition lawmakers also requested time to speak, Speaker Aryal allowed all opposition parties to speak. Yashuda Kumari Baral of UML drew attention to the government’s failure to address the issue repeatedly raised by the opposition. Bhim Kumar Budhamagar of the CPN demanded that the Prime Minister correct his statement related to nationalism, at a time when the Nepali people are committed to defending their land.

Similarly, Purna Prasad Limbu of the Labor Culture Party raised questions about the Prime Minister’s statement, while Khushbu Oli of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party demanded that the ruling party publicly clarify its position on the matter.
