Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) MP Ramesh Prasai has demanded a response from the Home Minister regarding the frequent road accidents on the Karnali Highway. In the House of Representatives meeting on Monday, MP Prasai demanded a response from the government regarding the frequent road accidents on the Karnali Highway. MP Prasai said that the state cannot evade its responsibility to protect the lives of citizens. He objected to the state and society making accidents on the Karnali Highway a mere news item.
‘We feel pain only when an incident happens in our own home, and when it happens in someone else’s home, it becomes just news. Unfortunately, society has become so insensitive that accidents on Karnali have started becoming regular news for us,’ he said.
He asked what long-term plans the government has to make the Karnali Highway safe and prevent such heartbreaking accidents from recurring in the future. Emphasizing the need to think beyond the ruling party and the opposition on this serious issue related to the lives of citizens, MP Prasai also demanded an immediate ruling through the Speaker to allow the Home Minister to stand on the podium and answer.
