Yubaraj Dulal, Chief Whip of the opposition Nepali Communist Party (NCP), has objected to the ruling National Independent Party (NISP)'s decision to abolish the provincial assemblies from its first general convention.

Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Sunday, he said that the NCP's decision to abolish the provinces from the general convention, which had promised to empower the provinces and local levels when it went to the elections, is nothing but a betrayal and dishonesty towards the people. Chief Whip Dulal also warned that they would firmly confront any activity against the republic.

'During the elections, the ruling party's policy of going to backward provinces like Madhes, Sudurpaschim, and Karnali to seek votes and then passing a policy of abolishing those same structures after getting votes is dishonesty and a betrayal towards the people,' Dulal said, 'Just as when it went to the squatter settlements to seek votes, it was a tiger roaring and beating its chest instead of proper management.' But after the government was formed, the response to the dozers used in the squatter settlements was a roar of a jackal. Betrayal, deceit and deceit towards the people. We will firmly confront any activity against the republic.'

Chief Whip Dulal also accused the ruling Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) of not removing the squatters without proper management before the election, but also of not doing anything to help them later.
