Rastriya Swatantra Party President Ravi Lamichhane has said that the country is safe in the hands of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party. Lamichhane expressed this view at the inaugural session of the first general convention of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party in Chitwan.

Ravi said during his address, 'I would like to say this with the top dignitaries of all the political parties present on the stage as witnesses. You should be confident, the country is in the hands of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party. The country is safe. The permanent values of democracy, the values of separation of powers, the federal democratic republic, civil rights, guarantees of human rights, an egalitarian society, and many other gifts are priceless gifts given to us by the previous generation and by noble leadership like you. We will not uphold them. We will not go beyond them. We will not have the courage to reject all the movements that have taken place before this. We will not take that step lightly. I would like to request you to be confident.'

'We will not have the courage to reject all the previous movements,' Ravi said in his address, 'I would like to request everyone here to be confident.' Congress President Gagan Thapa, who had arrived to extend his best wishes at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) general convention, had urged them not to forget the sacrifices made in Chitwan in 18 BS.
