The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has decided to hold its central general convention in Kathmandu in the last week of Mangsir.
The party's central committee meeting held on Friday and Saturday decided to hold the general convention on Mangsir 26, 27 and 28. The meeting has formed a main organizing committee under the coordination of Chairman Lingden to hold the general convention. The committee will include members of the Central Working Committee, office bearers, central members, advisory committee, heads of various departments, provincial and district chairmen, federal and provincial parliamentarians and chairmen of fraternal organizations. Chairman Lingden informed that the Central Working Committee has been given the authority to form various sub-committees as per the need.
The meeting has approved the active membership distribution guidelines, organizational level election regulations and party election guidelines presented by the Central Election Committee with amendments. According to the approved schedule, the district convention should be held by mid-Bhadra. He said that the active membership distribution campaign will also be conducted by mid-Bhadra. Only members who have active membership within that period will be eligible to vote and become candidates for the general convention representatives. Chairman Lingden clarified that only districts that have completed their district conventions by mid-Bhadra will be eligible to participate in the central general convention.
The RPP has decided to hold provincial conventions in all seven provinces between Asoj 15 and 24. From Kartik 11 to 30, the provincial assembly regional election committees will select central general convention representatives from among the active members. Details of the selected representatives must be sent to the central election committee and the party central secretariat by Mangsir 7. In addition, the RPP has stated that arrangements have been made to ensure youth representation while selecting representatives from provincial assembly constituencies.
