A poem by a Congress MP, sarcastically addressing the Prime Minister, titled 'The Day the Country Was Forgotten'

Poem by Congress MP Sita Thapaliya: If this process of forgetting continues, one day you may forget the country itself, but the day you forget the country, whose ruler will you become? Tell me, whose ruler will you become on that day?

Congress MP Sita Thapaliya has questioned Prime Minister Balendra Sah about who is going to rule by forgetting the country.

She raised the question while reciting a poem titled 'The Day the Country Was Forgotten' in the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday. She said that the Prime Minister has forgotten his responsibility towards the country, soil and people. She urged the Prime Minister not to deviate from his nationality, people's trust and his responsibility. She said that those who swear by touching the soil later start questioning the same soil.

MP Thapaliya has urged people to never forget the people who trusted and voted for them, the soil that became the foundation of the people and the parents who gave them their blessings.

Here is what MP Thapaliya's poem says:

‘The day the country was forgotten’

You said you would build the country, I was confident

But suddenly the echo of your words did not fade away

You raised your finger on your own mother’s identity

You touched the soil and swore

But you started questioning the same soil

And kept singing the glory of your mother

But you forgot the duty of being a child

You forgot the love of your arms and womb

That is why today I am not confident,

My heart is pounding with worry for the country

Inspired by selfishness, perhaps you can forget many things

But do not forget the people who have placed their immense trust in you

Do not forget the soil on which the people stand

Do not forget those parents who blessed you

If the process of forgetting continues like this

One day you may forget the country

But the day you forget the country

That day, whose Will we become rulers?

Tell me, whose ruler will you become that day?

After Prime Minister Shah made a statement that Nepal has also encroached on India's land, the opposition parties have been protesting against it. In the form of the same protest, MP Thapaliya recited a poem in Parliament.
