The National Independent Party (NISP) has postponed all activities related to the Madhes Province Convention until further notice.
Bhuwan KC, the head of the NSPP Central Election Commission, issued a statement on Tuesday and informed that the entire process of the convention has been postponed for the time being.
The Election Commission has taken this decision by exercising the powers conferred on it under Section 41 and Section 49 of the party's Statute, 2079 BS (including the Third Amendment), Chief KC said.

With this decision, the delegate selection process, election program and schedule, candidacy registration process, election campaign, meetings, gatherings and all other work related to the convention have been stopped.
It is said that the Central Election Commission will officially inform about the date, time and revised schedule of the resumption of the convention in Madhes Province later.
The Commission has also urged all parties concerned not to conduct any new activities related to the convention in Madhes Province until further instructions are issued.
